Master's Project
Course Evaluation
IDT 8130 - Master's Project
Welcome to my Master’s project page! This Master’s Project represents the culmination of skills and knowledge I acquired through the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) program. Building on the online course I created in IDT 8030 - Design of Online Blended Learning Environments, this project involved developing a structured evaluation plan, analyzing data to assess course effectiveness, and making data-driven enhancements to optimize instructional quality. The process is fully documented through a comprehensive evaluation plan and evaluation report. Additionally, a reflective analysis and a portfolio presentation are also provided to showcase key insights I learned from completing all of the IDT courses, demonstrating mastery of the program's five learning outcomes. Overall, this capstone project reflects my commitment to designing impactful, technology-driven learning experiences.
The Evaluation Plan
This evaluation plan provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating my online 8th-grade science course, grounded in established theoretical foundations. Supported by current educational literature, the plan outlines detailed methods for evaluating the course's usability, the effectiveness of multimedia in facilitating mastery of learning objectives, and its impact on learner confidence and motivation.
The Evaluation Report
This evaluation report details the methodology used to formatively evaluate my online 8th-grade science course. This process involved two technology specialists, two learning specialists, and three target learners. The evaluation generated both quantitative data points and qualitative insights, providing a well-rounded view of the course's effectiveness in terms of the evaluation criteria outlined in the evaluation plan. The report outlines the data collection, analysis, and synthesis procedures, presenting the outcomes through textual descriptions, tables, and graphs. A synthesis of findings, results, and relevant literature informs the next iteration of course improvements based on data-driven insights.
IDT Program Reflection
This reflection outlines my growth and learning in instructional design theory and practice as I completed the Master’s of Education in Instructional Design and Technology. The examples shared in each section serve to illustrate my progress but are not an exhaustive representation of my learning.
Portfolio Presentation
My portfolio showcases my expertise in designing and implementing interactive and engaging learning experiences. Through this Pecha Kucha presentation, you’ll see how my designs address the unique challenges of virtual learning while fostering meaningful connections and learning outcomes for students.
